Last Thursday, September 3, our HBS team went to a machinery factory in Tianjin for a marking test of the HBS-380D.
The customer is working with components for the petroleum industry and was interested in using a dot peen marking machine to mark serial numbers on their metal parts.
We took two HBS-380D machines with us and tested them directly on the customer's workpieces. After arriving at the factory, we first looked at the parts and the actual marking position. We then set up the machine and started with a few test markings.
The workpiece in the test was a metal component with a machined surface and an opening in the middle. The customer wanted the serial numbers to be clear and easy to read after marking.
We made several adjustments during the test and marked the numbers directly on the part. As the photos show, the markings were clear and the customer was able to check the result on the spot.
The HBS-380D was also a good fit for the customer because it is battery powered. Its rechargeable lithium battery can normally support around four hours of operation, depending on the marking conditions. This means the operator does not need to keep the machine connected to an air compressor while moving around the workshop.
During the test, we also talked with the customer about how they plan to use the machine in their production. For this kind of application, being able to take the machine to the workpiece is quite practical, especially when the parts are not convenient to move to a fixed marking station.
The test went well, and the customer was happy with the marking result. They also showed interest in the HBS-380D and expressed their expectation of working with us.
For our team, it was a useful visit as well. Testing the machine on the customer's actual parts is always different from testing on a standard sample. We can see the real surface condition and marking position, and the customer can see what the machine can do with their own workpieces.
We look forward to the next step of this cooperation.
